2 – 5 November, Wednesday 3 November @13.00 Fashion Show of Hospice clothes Msunduzi Hospice promotion at Liberty Midlands Mall Msunduzi Hospice will be promoting the services provided to the greater Pietermaritzburg community during their annual awareness campaign from Tuesday, 2nd November to Friday, 5th November 2010 in front of Pick n Pay at Liberty Midlands Mall. This annual promotion is used to create awareness and advise the public of the services Msunduzi Hospice provides. The Mission of Hospice is to provide and promote quality of life, dignity in death, and bereavement support. Regular home visits are provided by nursing teams and volunteer support groups assisting families with basic nursing skills, and counseling for patients and their families.
The Liberty Mall promotion will have a team of volunteers and staff that will be at the stand selling raffles and our Tree of Lights (R30 each) among other small promotional items. The annual Tree of lights is a symbolic ceremony held during the festive season, at 18h15 for 18h30 on Friday, 3rd December 2010 at Hospice Conference Centre. The Hospice Tree at Hospice House, 200 Zwartkop Road, Prestbury, will be switched on after the ceremony and will remain on during the festive season. Each light on the tree will shine brightly in memory of a loved one. The public are encouraged to buy a light in memory of loved ones that are no longer with us, or just to celebrate life. Life is a precious gift that we sometimes take for granted. Only when life is threatened do we learn to appreciate that special gift.
The Charity shops are one our many avenues of fundraising and to promote our Hospice shops we will have a fashion show on Wednesday, 3rd November 2010 at 13h00 at the Centre Food Court. A team of volunteers will model the fashion available from the Hospice Shops and the clothes will be on sale thereafter. The public are unaware of the range and stock available at the shops and this promotion aims to create awareness of this. Public donations and support by shopping at our shops and fairs, etc. fund our day to day running cost.
